thedoggboy Crossing punk, proto-metal and soul groove with the attitude of a grime covered street kid (who is kinda pissed off), this one hits you in the ears, guts, brains and consciousness all at the same time. Tight grooves and blistering guitar solos abound. Easily one of my top releases of 2018. Favorite track: Feel It Too.

Misfit Music is a celebration of the odd, the strange and the unpredictable!

Sabatta's mantra is F*** Labels and F*** Genres.as long as a song has heavy drums, heavy bass, heavy guitars choc full of fuzz and vocals with heavy soul!

To all the freaks and weirdos WE SALUTE! Remember - we are the exception that MAKES the rule!

Inspired by the approach to recording of acts like early Sabbath, ACDC, Bad Brains and Burning Spear the 8 track album was recorded live in 8 hours in 2 sessions at Unit 2 Recording sutidos in East London with additional guitar and vocal overdubs added later at Vineyard Studios in South London.

Sabatta mainman Yinka (vocals and guitar) says: "We wanted this album to be a really authentic representation of us - not studio trickery. Bands like Sabbath back in the day just played, played and played - live so when they got in the studio and knocked out the classics we all love they did just that - kicked them out. They didn't have huge budgets back then and neither do we. They were just really f**king tight from endless gigging and we took that approach.'

Yinka continues 'Early Bad Brains - the black Dot EP - same thing. Recorded in a house in the basement, etc. ACDC's early recordings had amplifiers miced up facing the wall - for space. So we decided no frills and no f**king about would produce the sound we made in baking hot tiny rehearsal rooms and on stages across the UK and Europe. We are really proud of what we did and I think the listener will feel the energy - like they are in the room with us - being assaulted by the beautiful noises we make with Vox and Ampeg amps, Ludgwig drums, Fender bases, Gibson guitars and a whole lot of attitude and soul!.'

'Sabatta make music for people like us - outsiders, underdogs and ...misfits. This is what the album's about: viewing life from that vantage point with a healthy dose of scepticism. Whether it's the rocker lifestyle (Rock Star Sh*t), love in the online era (Feel It Too), surviving the metropolis (Scream Of Consciousness) and the cult of personality in politics (Wicked Right Now).

In many ways it's also a first generation immigrant song of two kids from the Essex suburb of London who grew up and moved to the big city and met through a love of heavy move to create their own Stoner Punk Rock alongside another kid from Italy. This is their story but it's also the story of anyone who has ever felt left out and struggled to find their place - in many ways that's actually the story of rock 'n' roll.
